Reporting

Reporting

All forms of sexual misconduct, including sexual violence, should be reported, no matter the severity. Metro Tech's primary concern is safety; therefore individuals should not be deterred from reporting even if the use of alcohol or other drugs were involved.

Metro Tech encourages victims of sexual misconduct, including sexual violence, to talk to someone about what happened so they can receive support and the school can respond appropriately. It is important to be aware of the different advocates victims can contact for assistance following an incident. Each individual may have different responsibilities regarding confidentiality, depending on their position.

At Metro Tech no school employee can guarantee complete confidentiality, unless specifically provided by law. Schools must balance the needs of the individual victim with an obligation to protect the safety and well-being of the community.
