Aaron Collins was appointed Superintendent by the Metro Technology Centers Board of Education in June 2020.
As a proud United States Air Force veteran, Mr. Collins is unwaveringly committed to promoting equity in education, providing quality career training, and fostering a culture of lifelong learning. His visionary leadership has propelled the District to the forefront of educational excellence in the state and has left a lasting impact on the communities he serves.
Before Metro Tech, Mr. Collins dedicated two decades to education, serving in diverse roles like teacher, coach, administrator, and, in his most previous position, Superintendent at Fulton County Schools in Kentucky.
However, Oklahoma City holds a special place in Mr. Collins' heart, as it's where he completed his student teaching at Millwood Middle School. He proudly graduated from Oklahoma Christian University in 1999, earning a bachelor's degree. He then earned his Master's and Education Specialist degree in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Technological University.
His dedication and work has earned Mr. Collins numerous recognitions and accolades. For example, he received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Oklahoma Christian University in 2014 and was also recognized in the Journal Record's 2021 Education Power List.
When he's not in the office, traveling the campuses, or out in the community, he finds joy in activities like jogging, playing basketball, and traveling with his beloved family. He shares these adventures with his wife Chanelle, and together, they are the proud parents of four wonderful children: Caleb, Daniel, Abigail, and Lydia.
