David Martin is an accomplished educational leader known for advancing innovation, organizational excellence, and workforce development within Oklahoma’s CareerTech system.
As Deputy Superintendent at Metro Tech, he served as second-in-command, providing strategic oversight across instructional, operational, human capital, and communications divisions while ensuring strong cross-departmental alignment.
Martin also led the successful launch and expansion of high-impact programs that directly address workforce needs. His accomplishments include securing a $150,000 grant to establish Metro Tech’s first Multimedia Journalism program and expanding cosmetology offerings through a partnership with Oklahoma City Public Schools.
A champion of continuous improvement, Martin has guided organizational transformation through the implementation of the Baldrige Framework and participation in the Baldrige Fellowship program, while also serving as an Oklahoma Quality Foundation Baldrige Examiner. His leadership experience includes overseeing finance, facilities, IT, financial aid, and grants as Assistant Superintendent of Business and Operations, and directing recruitment and compliance efforts as Interim Director of Personnel.
Martin is deeply committed to workforce development and community engagement, fostering partnerships with organizations such as Collision Works, Tinker Federal Credit Union, the Diversion Hub, and the No Flukes Foundation. He has also led key internal initiatives focused on talent development, succession planning, and leadership training.
Alongside an Oklahoma Superintendent certification, Martin also holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education at East Central University. In 2022, he was honored with the Arch Alexander Award for progressive leadership in CareerTech education.
Through strategic leadership and a commitment to student success, Martin continues to advance Metro Tech’s mission of preparing students for successful employment and life.
