Direct Loan Counseling

• You must fully complete entrance counseling before we can certify your student loan(s).
• Federal regulations require all Direct Loan Borrowers to complete entrance counseling.
• If you've previously completed Direct Loan Entrance Counseling you don't need to again.

Start Session: During this process you will read the Direct Loan information and answer the questions. You will read the Borrower's Rights and Responsibilities to gain a thorough understanding of your student loans and rights and responsibilities.

Print Page & Complete: At the end of the Entrance Counseling Session, you will receive a "Counseling Completion Verification" page. Print a copy of this. Once the Entrance Counseling Session is completed you will select "Complete MPN for Undergraduate Students" to complete and sign the Master Promissory Note.

Return to the Financial Aid Office: Attach the printed copies of Entrance Counseling Verification, first three (3) pages of the Master Promissory Note to your signed award offer and return to the Financial Aid Office.

All Direct Loan Borrowers at Metro Tech who are graduating or who have withdrawn or dropped, must complete Direct Loan Exit Counseling.

You will need your FSA ID and password to complete this process.
