  • Must submit all required documents listed under orientation prior to the first day of class. Students need to purchase their own textbook. The workbook will be provided by Metro Tech on the first day. The textbook you need to purchase is called MOSBY'S TEXTBOOK FOR LONG-TERM CARE NURSING ASSISTANTS, EIGHTH EDITION BY KOSTELNICK. ISBN 978-0-323-53073-6

Enter the health care field as a CNA! The CNA-LTC course is designed to introduce students to basic nursing care for long-term care patients. It consists of didactic learning in which students will identify roles and responsibilities of a nurse assistant while learning basic care skills. The students will be able to identify normal and abnormal findings of basic skills. This course includes 16 hours of long-term clinical experience in which students will perform skills learned in the didactic portion of the course. Upon successful completion, students are eligible for the Certified Nurse Aide state certification exam. Book and testing fees are NOT included in tuition. A minimum attendance of 108 hours is required in order to complete the class. Early enrollment is encouraged as classes fill quickly.
