Metro Tech Announces Date for 5th Annual Women’s Empowerment Symposium, Seeking Vendors
Metro Tech officials are gearing up for the 5th Annual Women's Empowerment Symposium (WES), an event held to uplift, educate, celebrate and connect women from all walks of life. Scheduled for Friday, September 29th at the District Center located at 1900 Springlake Drive, the Symposium will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions and interactive workshops, as well as business opportunities for local, women-owned businesses and female entrepreneurs, authors and artists.
The event will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free and open to the public aged 12 and older. Vendor registration is now open through September 15th. A gift card with a minimum of $35 is required to reserve a spot as a vendor and will be used as door prizes for event attendees.
Metro Tech Workforce Development and WES Event Coordinator Elena Troya said the meaning and purpose of the annual symposium is a combination of different components.
“It provides opportunities for local women-owned businesses to showcase their products and services and provides a peaceful location where women and the public can learn and express insights and opinions,” Troya said. “We wholeheartedly embrace the power of intergenerational connections and fostering mentorship opportunities where women uplift and guide each other.”
