Metro Tech Aviation Campus Undergoes Renovations, Open House Scheduled
The Metro Tech Aviation Campus at the Will Rogers World Airport, 5600 S MacArthur Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73179, will host an open house on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 10 a.m. to Noon. The event is being held to celebrate the completion of extensive renovations designed to enhance the educational environment for students and staff.
A total of $1.8 million in renovations have been made to the facility, including:
- New flooring, roof overlay, front reception desk, and furniture
- Reconstructed ceilings
- Painting of interior walls
- Remodeled restrooms
- Custom millwork
The campus houses Metro Tech's day and evening Aviation Maintenance Technician programs for adult students and saw 73 graduates in fiscal year 2023 with a 79% positive placement rate.
According to oklahoma.gov, the aerospace and defense industry is Oklahoma's second-largest and fastest-growing industry. Metro Tech Superintendent Aaron Collins said the refurbished learning spaces are a testament to the district's commitment to providing the industry with a high-quality workforce.
"As we continue our mission to provide quality career training, our newly renovated Aviation Campus will offer a modern learning environment for countless future maintenance technicians," Collins said. "We're striving to ensure our students and staff have the best possible resources to succeed and thrive in their educational and professional pursuits."
The open house event will include guided tours of the newly renovated areas. Metro Tech representatives will be available to answer questions and provide additional information about the Aviation Campus and its programs.
One of the largest and most diverse technology centers in Oklahoma, Metro Tech has four campuses offering short-term, career and customized business training options. Campuses are located in South Oklahoma City, Northeast Oklahoma City, Downtown Oklahoma City and the Will Rogers Airport.

Candidate filing for the Metro Tech Board of Education District’s One and Two seats is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, December 2, through Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
Seven Metro Tech post-secondary students have been selected to receive the Fall 2024 Otha Grimes Scholarships from the Oklahoma CareerTech Foundation.
