Metro Tech Board of Education Welcomes Newly Elected District 4 Member

Oklahoma City voters elected Cristina Rivera to represent District 4 on Metro Tech's Board of Education. Rivera was sworn in during the board’s monthly meeting on March 9, 2026, and will serve a four-year term.

With professional experience in healthcare, teaching and community advocacy, Rivera has worked with students and families in a variety of settings. She previously served as a sixth-grade teacher and substitute teacher and later worked as a nurse. Her service also includes involvement with community initiatives such as Sandwiches with Love, which supports children and families experiencing homelessness.

“As a mother and former educator, I understand the hopes and challenges of Oklahoma City families,” Rivera said. “I am honored to serve as a voice for parents, students and educators alike.”

Metro Tech Superintendent and CEO Aaron Collins said Rivera’s background will bring a valuable perspective to the board.

“Ms. Rivera’s experience with the community and classroom gives her a strong understanding of the needs of the students and families we serve,” Collins said. “We look forward to the perspective she will bring as we continue serving students, families and employers across our district.”

During the March meeting, Metro Tech also recognized Charlie Ludden, who represented District 4 following his appointment in December 2025. Board President Dr. Linda Ware Toure also completed her term representing District 5 and was honored for her 10 years of service to the district.

One of the largest and most diverse technology centers in Oklahoma, Metro Tech has four campuses offering short-term, career and customized business training options. Campuses are located in South Oklahoma City, Northeast Oklahoma City, Downtown Oklahoma City and the Will Rogers Airport.
