Metro Tech Students Compete and Place at FCCLA State Conference
Metro Tech Culinary Arts and Early Care and Education students recently attended the State Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Conference in Tulsa. While there, Culinary Arts students placed in the top 3 in competitions, and the Early Care and Education program received the Family and Consumer Sciences Participation and Bronze Chapter of Excellence awards.
Adult Student Paula Arevalo placed 3rd in the Level 4 Culinary Arts competition, qualifying for the national FCCLA competition in June.

“Our student’s success at the State FCCLA competition is a testament to their dedication and talent,” Bonnie Logan, Metro Tech’s CareerTech Student Organization Advisor, said. “We are excited to see Paula represent Metro Tech at the national level.”
One of the largest and most diverse technology centers in Oklahoma, Metro Tech has four campuses offering short-term, career and customized business training options. Campuses are located in South Oklahoma City, Northeast Oklahoma City, Downtown Oklahoma City and the Will Rogers Airport.
The Metro Tech Board of Education has appointed Saul Ortiz to fill District Seat 7. Following the May 2025 meeting, the Board announced an opening and accepted applications for the vacant seat.
Several Metro Tech adult students earned top honors at the HOSA–Future Health Professionals International Leadership Conference, held last week in Nashville.
The Metro Tech Foundation Board of Directors has announced Matthew Wade as its new executive director.
