Metro Tech Students Earn International Honors at HOSA Leadership Conference
Several Metro Tech Health Careers students earned top honors in competitions at the 2026 HOSA – Future Health Professionals International Leadership Conference in Indianapolis. This event brings together postsecondary, secondary, and middle school students from across the globe to compete in health-related events and learn from industry professionals.
Receiving gold medals were Adult Radiologic Technology Students Anahi Montes and Shae Hall. Montes placed for her poster project titled "Association Between Cardiomegaly and Pleural Effusion in Emergency Department Chest X-rays," While Hall secured his medal in the Biomedical Equipment Technician competition.
Additional student achievements included Annika Martin, who placed fifth in Medical Law and Ethics, and Metro Tech's HOSA Bowl Team of Hannah Bevel, Courtney Aeschliman, Lakeisha Mendez, and Amanda Cantrell, who earned a sixth-place finish.
One of the largest and most diverse technology centers in Oklahoma, Metro Tech has four campuses offering short-term, career and customized business training options. Campuses are located in South Oklahoma City, Northeast Oklahoma City, Downtown Oklahoma City and the Will Rogers Airport.

Students in Metro Tech's Entrepreneurship program recently earned top three finishes at the 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta.

The Metro Tech Board of Education approved Jeremy Cowley to serve as Metro Tech's new Deputy Superintendent at the June 23 board meeting.

More than 60 Metro Tech high school and adult students placed in the top three at the 2026 Oklahoma SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference in Tulsa, with several 1st place winners earning qualification to compete at the national level in Atlanta this June.
