Metro Tech Names New Deputy Superintendent

The Metro Tech Board of Education approved Jeremy Cowley to serve as Metro Tech's new Deputy Superintendent at the June 23 board meeting. In this role, Cowley will work directly with Superintendent & CEO David Martin to support the district's strategic initiatives, operations, and commitment to providing career and technical education opportunities.

Cowley holds two decades of experience in career and technology education. Since joining Metro Tech in 2020, he has served in several key leadership positions, including Associate Superintendent of Innovation and Knowledge Management, Senior Director of Student Affairs and Workforce Development, Dean of Instruction, and Site Director of the South Bryant Campus. Prior to joining Metro Tech, Cowley held leadership positions at Autry Technology Center and Meridian Technology Center, where he gained extensive experience in instructional leadership, workforce partnerships, and administration.

“I've had the privilege of working closely with Mr. Cowley and have seen the tremendous value he brings to our district through his leadership, innovation, and dedication to our students and stakeholders,” Martin said. “His extensive experience, combined with his strategic vision and collaborative approach, make him exceptionally well-suited to serve as Metro Tech's Deputy Superintendent.”

A native of Morrison, Oklahoma, Cowley was raised on his family farm and developed an early appreciation for agriculture, education, and workforce development. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education from Oklahoma State University and Equine Science from Colorado State University, as well as a master’s degree in educational administration. He is currently pursuing a doctorate at East Central University.

Before transitioning into educational leadership, Cowley spent four years as an agricultural education instructor and FFA advisor, teaching equine and agricultural science courses while overseeing student livestock projects. During that time, he coached numerous district-winning and state-placing public speakers and helped prepare students for success in agriculture-related careers and leadership opportunities.

Throughout his career, Cowley has earned several recognitions for his contributions, including the Honorary State FFA Degree, the Region II Teachers Turn the Key Award, the Association for Career and Technical Education of Nebraska Administrator of the Year Award, and the MetroQuest Award. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Arch Alexander Award from the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technical Education (OkACTE), which recognizes his exemplary leadership and lasting impact on career and technical education across Oklahoma.
