Cindy Friedemann inducted into Journal Record’s Circle of Excellence
First Metro Tech employee to achieve this honor

OKLAHOMA CITY – Metro Technology Centers is pleased to announce that Cindy Friedemann is one of the Journal Record’s “50 Making a Difference.” She will be inducted into the “Circle of Excellence” – an honor reserved for those being selected for the third time – during a banquet at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum on Oct. 14.

Friedemann served as an executive at Metro Tech for 11 years, creating impactful, local and national partnerships and leading education strategy. Elected as national president in 2022 to lead NCLA, the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Administration Professional Association, she also serves as state treasurer on the executive board of Oklahoma Humanities and as secretary of the board of education for Insight Schools of Oklahoma.

“I am humbled to receive this honor for my work in CTE and in my community in the presence of my dear family and friends,” said Friedemann. “The Journal Record has created a legacy that means so much to women who are driven to serve in our state.”

Friedemann continued, “We are at a nexus in Oklahoma City. Education is changing dramatically and leaders must work differently to create inclusive opportunities for all. We must be innovative problem solvers, willing to partner in new ways. I am proud of a recent partnership with Teresa Rose Crook of the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma and the City of OKC where Metro Tech provided retraining for residents who lost their jobs during COVID-19.”

Superintendent and CEO Aaron Collins said, “Ms. Friedemann continues to lead efforts to strengthen Metro Tech’s goal of providing quality career training to our students, clients and community. We are extremely grateful for her dedication and years of service.”

Additionally, Friedemann was named alongside 25 other state leaders in August to the Journal Record’s “Power 2021 in Education.” Now, more than ever, organizations partner with CTE to make an impact.
