Dr. Robyn Miller begins new operations role at Metro Tech

OKLAHOMA CITY – Dr. Robyn Miller has joined Metro Technology Centers this week as the Senior Director of Operations.  Dr. Miller comes from the State Department of Education where she served as Oklahoma’s Chief Deputy State Superintendent of Public Instruction for nearly seven years.  She was formally approved by the Metro Tech Board of Education during a meeting held last month.

In her new role, she will make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals for performance and growth. She is responsible for the oversight and management of district operational services and procedures; ensures that district operational affairs are well-coordinated and productive; and interfaces with external agencies as an official representative of the district.

“We are pleased Dr. Miller has joined our team,” Superintendent Aaron Collins said. “Her knowledgeable background and experience in education will contribute to the continuous improvements of Metro Tech as a district.”

“I am thrilled to be part of an institution that serves the Oklahoma City metro area by connecting students and community,” said Dr. Miller. “Perhaps, most exciting is the ‘Metro Tech for Life’ motto exhibiting a commitment beyond the initial connection.”

Dr. Miller holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on diversity. She began her education career as a high school English teacher in Edmond for ten years. She transitioned to higher education and served in an educator preparation program for twenty years as professor and eventually became Dean of Education at Oklahoma Christian University.

Dr. Miller has served on Oklahoma’s Commission for Educational Quality and Accountability as well as the State Regents for Higher Education Advisory Board. Presently, she is a trustee on the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence and serves on the Positive Tomorrow’s board of directors.
