OKLAHOMA CITY - Metro Tech is pleased to announce new roles for three employees effective January 4, 2021. The employees were approved during a meeting by the board of education on Dec. 17th.

David Martin will serve as the Assistant Associate Superintendent of Business and Operational Services. His responsibilities will be to generate growth opportunities and strengthen business relationships in the community, and support the management of campus structures and grounds maintenance. Martin's long history with Metro Tech includes his recent position as interim director of Human Resources, and formerly as the site director of Metro Tech's South Bryant Campus where he was responsible for the daily operations of the campus; supporting students, faculty and staff. Martin said, "Building solid relationships in our community is important in accomplishing mutual goals."

Romel Muex's role as the director of Human Resources will include the management of Metro Tech's recruiting, hiring, and the onboarding processes of new employees. She will also support the management and development of personnel benefits ensuring policies and procedures are in alignment with local and state laws. Muex said, "I have a strong vision for development the professional capacity of people. Through my own personal vision and the pursuit of a doctorate in Learning and Organizational Change, I believe I can make a difference in my new role." Muex's former position is the Director of Institutional Learning at Metro Tech, where she was responsible for developing a broad range of training to help employees meet their professional goals. Prior, she served four years as an assistant principal at Putnam City High Schools during her 13 years with Putnam City Pubic Schools.

Sandra Sanchez joins Metro Tech's Human Resources department as coordinator. She'll have an active role in critical functions working closely with member of Human Resources to support the recruiting, interviews, and hiring of new staff. She works closely with district leaders and serves as a resource person for board, staff, school administration and others. In her former position as Senior Administrative Assistant at Metro Tech, she provided support to the superintendent's office by assisting with a variety of administrative functions. Sanchez is pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Superintendent Aaron Collins said, "We are grateful for the vast knowledge and experience these employees bring to Metro Tech."

Metro Technology Centers has four campuses offering short-term, career and customized business training. Campuses are located in South Oklahoma City, Northeast Oklahoma City, the Will Rogers Airport and Downtown Oklahoma City.
