Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month
Celebrating the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of the Latino Community.
Kicking off Sept. 15 and continuing until Oct. 15, Metro Tech and other local organizations are celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month in OKC, highlighting the diverse histories, cultures and contributions of Latinos. Pres. Lyndon Johnson set aside a week in 1968 but in 1988, Pres. Ronald Reagan extended it to an entire month. The timing is significant as several Latin American countries celebrate independence in mid-September.
