Master Sgt. Tomas Daugherty

Master Sgt. Tomas Daugherty, Nov. 24, 1972 - Sept. 26, 2021

A message from Superintendent Aaron Collins:

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you Oklahoma City Police Department Master Sgt. Tomas Daugherty, who worked with our Cadet Program, passed away this past weekend.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Daugherty family, the Oklahoma City Police Department and our Metro Tech team members and students, who worked closely with him. This is devastating news for our community. He was loved and respected by many.

Please know we informed our cadet students on Monday at the beginning of class about Sgt. Daugherty’s passing. We are grateful to Lt. Freddy Hernandez and the Oklahoma City Police Department for being present and speaking to the students, in addition to our grief counselors.

I know the coming days, weeks and months will be difficult. During times like these, support is a cornerstone. We will move forward together, holding each other up with support, encouragement and friendship.  How fortunate we were to have had Tomas as a member of our Metro Tech family championing student success and achievement in law enforcement for so many years. He will be missed.

Sincerely,
Superintendent Aaron Collins
