Would you like to learn to work on jet engines, helicopters and airplanes?
Then the adult Aviation Maintenance Technician program is for you!
This program will prepare you to be part of a team that keeps passengers safe at 500 miles per hour and 35, 000 feet in the air. You will taxi aircraft, conduct inspections and perform engine start-ups as part of ground operations, as well as prepare to obtain your FAA certifications for an airframe and powerplant (A&P) mechanic.
What are the basic requirements for this class?
You must be 18 and have either a valid high school diploma or GED, to apply.
How long is this class?
The program is 2055 clock hours and takes approximately eighteen months to complete.
What times are classes available?
Classes meet year-round, Monday through Thursday. Daytime classes are held from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the evening class meets from 3 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
When do classes start and is there an application deadline?
Classes start twice a year-in September and March. We are currently taking applications for the March 2018 classes and the deadline to apply is February 26 or until the classes are filled.
How many students will be accepted?
We take the top 18 applicants for each class, for a total of 36 daytime students and 18 evening students. Admissions is competitive and is based upon a points system.
How much does the program cost?
In-state tuition is $3.25 an hour or $6,679 total. Out-of-state tuition is $6.50 an hour or $14,333 total. International student tuition is $16.09 an hour or $33,065 total. Monthly tuition payments are available. Books cost approximately $400. FAA tests are approximately $1,200. (this includes both written and oral/practical exams.)Students are responsible for providing their own laptops and tools. TSA badges are $65.

These are held in Room E of the Business Conference Center located at 1900 Springlake Drive.

- After orientation, you may go online to complete an online application.
- After completing the online application please complete the Adult Application Interview Questions.
- Gather all necessary documentation, such as transcripts, resume’, and certificates of any related technical training.
- Schedule your admissions testing by calling (405)-595-4678.
- After testing, meet with an Adult Career Advisor to review your test results and start paperwork for the application process.
- Apply for financial aid online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Our federal school code is 016140.
How will I know if I have been accepted into the program?
We plan to send letters out March 2018, to inform students if they have been selected or not.
What are the requirements for admissions of international students?

Do you guarantee job placement upon graduation?
While no school can guarantee its’ graduates a job upon completion, we do have a very high placement rate. There are also internship opportunities available to students with various employers, including the FAA, AAR, and Tinker Air Force Base, if they qualify.
