Metro Tech graduate named OSU-OKC Alumni Outstanding Graduate

Michelle Peterson, Bilingual Customer Service Representative in Student Services, was recently named Alumni Outstanding Graduate by OSU-Oklahoma City. Few graduates are chosen for this recognition with rigid selection criteria including high grade point average, documented community service and active participation in a school club or organization.

Michelle graduated from OSU-OKC in 2014 with an A.A.S. in Technical Spanish: Translation & Interpretation, Legal Option. She was an honor roll student during her time at OSU, and an active member of Phi Theta Kappa.

Prior to attending OSU-OKC, Michelle graduated from the Metro Tech Administrative Assistant program and was named the 2009-2010 Adult Program Student of the Year with a 4.0 GPA. She credits her teacher, Cynthia Samuels, for encouraging her to utilize the college credits earned to pursue a college degree.

"Ms. Samuels believed in me, supported me and told me I was college material. She even attended my graduation ceremony at OSU-OKC," she said.

Michelle has been employed with Metro Tech since 2011.

Congratulations, Michelle!
