Metro Technology Centers 2019 Student Community Investment Plan passes with 71% vote

Metro Technology Centers express our sincere appreciation for voters’ overwhelming support of the 2019 Student Community Investment Plan for Metro Tech. Over the next decade, this $80 million bond issue will provide investments and upgrades that will prepare our students for careers of today and tomorrow.

Key highlights of how funds will be used include a new facility at the Springlake Campus for Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. The new health services facility will double as a Safe Room that will hold 1,200 people and be open to the community.

We will build a new Aerospace building at the South Bryant campus that when completed will house the aviation programs from the Will Rogers location, saving us $250,000 annually in lease payments.  These investments will also provide students experience working with the latest technology in this growing Oklahoma industry.

Further, we will accomplish building remodels and upgrades at South Bryant that will enhance the learning and experience of students in our Public Safety Program, Cosmetology, Adult and Career Development, Electrical Trades, Construction Trades, Plumbing and Welding programs. Last, we will create new space for the STEM Lab/Maker Space.

Metro Tech has proudly trained community members for 40 years. Our student employment placement rate is 94 percent. With the passage of this bond, we are well positioned to continue this success for the next 40 years. Again, we express our sincerest thanks for your support.
