It was an AMAZING day at Metro Tech for our Annual Blue Out Celebration!
We celebrated the end of the spring semester and all of the hard work that’s been achieved by our faculty and staff throughout the year, and awarded several employees who have gone above and beyond in making a positive difference in our District (details are in the captions!).
We also honored our retirees, and Metro Tech ‘MVP’ Employees who are celebrating their 5th, 10th and every 5 year anniversary after that.
We also made the official announcement that Metro Tech has earned certification for Great Places to Work 2023-2024!
It's always great to have everyone in the District together to relax and have some fun while we show them just how much they mean to us. Congratulations to all, and thank you to the Metro Tech Employee Association for another amazing party!

The Blue Star Award went to South Bryant Campus Counselor, Leslie Cooksey!

The Honorary Blue-Chip Award went to Workforce Development Coordinator Shaun Bowman for the work he’s done in creating several partnerships that support our mission of quality career training.
The Community Blue Service Award went to Valerie McMurry, Director of Community Outreach and Wellness for the work her and her department has achieved through the newly constructed Wellness and Community Outreach Center.
Workforce Development Coordinator Marie Pijanowski was awarded the Quality Career Training Award for the work she’s done in the Metro LEAD program and implementing Metro BBrief

Staff members like Josie Scott, Lab Simulation and Skills Coordinator, are our MVPs celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, or 35 years at Metro Tech!
We were also able to pass out awards to our employees who were recognized at our Christmas party in December.
Lamar Rouce, Evening Barbering Instructor was granted the Golden ‘Blue’per Award for pulling the fire alarm during a drill, alerting the OKC fire department. Mr. Collins humbly accepted the award on his behalf since he couldn't make it.
The band was great as always!
