Barbering - High School

The Barbering program is designed for students that would like to obtain an Oklahoma Barbering License from the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering. The curriculum includes technical instruction and practical skills covering barber practices that will properly prepare students for an entry level career as a licensed barber. Students will learn basic manipulative skills on shaving, haircutting, styling, advanced barbering services, the science and safety of barbering, and the business of barbering. To obtain state licensing, students must complete 1500 hours of instruction and pass the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology written and practical exams with 500 hours waived for high school students if high school core courses are successfully completed.
