Firefighter / EMT

The Firefighter / EMT career major prepares students for the physical demands of firefighting while teaching essential requirements, equipment, and foundational knowledge of the profession. Open to high school juniors and seniors, the program combines hazardous materials training with the coursework required to test for Firefighter I certification, while also preparing students for a career as emergency medical technicians in a variety of settings.

Through hands-on instruction and advanced simulations, students gain real-world emergency medical skills and prepare for national and state certification, equipping graduates for Fire Academy entry and careers as first responders or healthcare professionals.

Note: All students must complete a sports physical upon entering the program.
