Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Enter the exciting world of emergency medicine by becoming an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)! Students will obtain a basic knowledge and skill set to provide care and transportation to the sick and injured. EMTs are a critical component of the comprehensive emergency medical system. EMTs function on protocols and act under a physician medical director outside of the hospital. This course is designed to prepare the student to take the National Registry EMT Exam. This section of the course is a fast-paced online blended learning course and may not be suitable for all learners. Successful students will be self-motivated and able to thrive in an online classroom environment. The class consists of 152 hours of online work and zoom meetings, 64 hours of hands-on labs, and 36 hours of ambulance and emergency department clinical rotations. Students are responsible for ensuring access to a computer and reliable internet. Lab days are on campus every Friday.
